Surge in the number of COVID cases among Kids
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has provisionally approved Pfizer's vaccine for all children aged five to 11 years old. More than 2 million Australian children will become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Almost a staggering 10% of the total infected number of COVID-19 in Australia has been children aged 0-9 years. With the infected number for this aged group closing near to 50,000 in Australia, upon Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)'s approval the Australian Government is making vaccine available for 5-11 years old.
More children are becoming infected with Delta, experts say. This is because it is a more infectious variant: everyone is more likely to be infected by it regardless of the age group which was reflected in the past 6 months where the Delta variant run rampant and almost 14.58% of the infected person were kids aged between 0-9 years old.
Infected 0-9 years old Australians:
Before the 1st confirmed Delta variant in Australia: approx. 3500
June 2021 - November 2021 (Period when Delta was the main spread): approx. 27000
December 2021 (1 month of Omricon variant): 21000

This is evidence that the virus is more infectious. At this moment, while children are unvaccinated, the best way to protect children is to ensure they are using mask.
Omricon Symptom
Here are 5 symtoms to keep an eye out for when it comes to the omicron variant:
